Don’t Get Shortchanged
As of November 21st, 2013 - Pool and Spa News is reporting that three of the pool industry’s giant manufacturers have new rules regarding pool equipment. Pentair Aquatic Systems, Zodiac Pool Systems and Hayward Pool Products all announced dramatic limitations to their warranties for products bought and installed by non-certified installers. The new rules are meant to protect both manufacturers and pool owners. In the case of a non- certified product install, warranties are being slashed to one year or less.
As long as a licensed and certified pool professional completes the work, each of the three major manufacturers will extend product warranties for up to 5 years. You don’t want to find out that the expensive equipment you just bought only has a 60-day warranty because ‘Flip Flop Freddie’ or ‘Pool Boy Pete’ said they’d do the work.
The solution to save money and protect the warranty is an easy one.
